F.A.Q.’s

What is Little Falls mission statement?

We exist to transform ourselves and our neighbors into growing followers of Jesus Christ.

Why that mission?

Two reasons: The primary reason is that we believe this is what God is calling us to do with Him at this time and in this place. The second is that we believe that every person can benefit from entering into a relationship with Jesus Christ that will continually transform their life.

Is Little Falls a part of a denomination?

Little Falls is a part of the Presbyterian Church, USA (www.pcusa.org). It is one of the oldest denominations and the largest Presbyterian denomination in our nation.

Why Presbyterian?

There are three things about Presbyterian faith that we find very attractive:

1. God is lifted up as sovereign: God is seen as the Head of the Church and the Ruler of the Universe. We are glad that Presbyterians emphasize this aspect of God.

2. “Reformed and always reforming according to scripture.” This is the hallmark phrase of Reformed (Presbyterian) thought. We love that it emphasizes that both personally and corporately we are in need of God’s reformation and transformation in our lives. The phrase also emphasizes God’s unique gift of the scriptures to guide our lives.

3. Church government that is a representative theocracy. We govern our structure in by electing people from all parts of the congregation who are gifted as leaders to lead the congregation. However, their duty is to discern the will of God together rather than represent the will of the congregation.

Can non-Presbyterians join Little Falls?

Sure – but then you’ll be a Presbyterian! Almost half of our current members came from a non-Presbyterian background. Many people who are a part of Little Falls dropped out of churches at a young age and have come back to the church to find that God is extremely relevant to their life.

How does a person join the church?

The best first step is the Inquirer’s class.

Why do you have Middle School Dances?

We think that the middle school years are some of the toughest years of life. We love providing a fun environment for these students to enjoy once a month. But our motivation is much deeper than that. We think that each one of these students would benefit greatly by entering into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We are partnering with Young Life to reach out to the students who attend our dances in creative and attractive ways.
