What is Stewardship?

Stewardship is about making choices, as individuals in the community. It is more than giving money to the church. Stewardship is about being faithful disciples, caring for, and managing all that God has given us.

Stewardship is a journey. It is about life – a way of life. Put simply, giving is our response to what we have received. We are created in God’s image, and God gives. God gives us life and love, forgiveness and grace. Stewardship is our giving back to God in thanksgiving, a portion of the blessings we have received.

Stewardship is the grateful response to God’s grace and goodness. It requires a consideration of how our choices affect us and others, of how we can be good caretakers of the created world, and of how we can serve God as disciples of Christ.
